Indeed, the wines of this central European country are home to many of the most surprising and seductive wines available today, and the eastern region of Burgenland is perhaps one of the finest regions Austria has. Whilst most of Austria is renowned for its off-dry and flavorful white wines, Burgenland is home to the country's red wine producers, with vineyards there being full of Pinot Noir, Zwiegelt and Blaufrankisch grapes, resulting in a wide palate of delicious and juicy reds. This is perhaps due to the relatively large amounts of sunshine and heat the region enjoys each year, and the proximity to one of the country's largest lakes, which helps red grapes reach their full potential.

The 2025 Tour de Rosé was picked from a field blend planted in Ried Ruster, the lightest-lying site in the village. Varieties such as Lagrein, Zweigelt, Teroldego, Blaufränkisch, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Sankt Laurent, Merlot and Pinot Noir all contribute to this intensely pink wine, which was directly pressed and fermented in large wood. A touch of smokiness meets cherry and berry alongside waxiness on the nose. The palate is smooth and rounded, with body and only slight tannins, but lovely freshness. Very much a rosé for the table and not just in summer. (Bone-dry)

Winery Notes

A soft “red line“ stretches from deep pink over the ripe fruit with lots of berry and cherry notes including rose petals, lavender and sage. Modestly tangy and delicate salty elements compliment the harmonious acidity – a wine with good balance expressing different grape varieties.
