Smoky red and black fruits, scorched earth, graphite, and chalky mineral notes all emerge from the 2023 Gevrey Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois, another ripe, powerful wine. It’s inky-hued, medium to full-bodied, has plenty of mid-palate depth, and building tannins. It clearly brings more finesse and elegance than the appellation release, but is still in the same stylistic ballpark. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade. Drink 2027-2035.
