The 2018 Rosé Pinot Noir from San Pablo, Uco Valley spent 40 months aging with yeast. Coppery in hue. The nose offers clear cherry and strawberry notes with hints of red apple and yeast alongside pastry and toast aromas. In the mouth, the bubbles are fine and dry with a malic palate anchored in a terse flow, a medium-bodied mousse and sustained flavors.
Winery
This sparkling wine is 100% Pinot Noir made in Methode Tradicional from two separate vineyards high up in the Uco Valley. The wine shows toasty notes of brioche on the nose with hints of wild strawberry and raspberries. The wine is crisp with touches of sweet red plums and white cherries on the palate that lead to a bright, butter pastry finish.

Varietal: Champagne Blend

Whilst Champagne sparkling wines are most commonly made with a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grape varietals, there are actually seven fine grape varietals allowed by French wine law for inclusion in the wines of this region. These include Arbanne, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and and Petit Meslier alongside the others, although these four are being used less and less in the modern age. Champagnes are normally blended wines, although the popularity of single variety 'blanc de blanc' Champagnes made solely with Chardonnay grapes, and 'blanc de noir' wines made only with Pinot Noir varietal grapes are becoming more and more popular. The blending process found in most Champagnes aims to take the finest points of each grape varietal and bring them together to produce spectacular, strong yet balanced results in the bottle.

Argentina's Cuyo region has, for several decades now, been renowned worldwide for the high quality of its fruit-forward and remarkably flavorful wines. The arid region includes such famous provinces as the Mendoza, and wineries in Cuyo often have generations of experience when it comes to making the most of the mineral rich yet arid soils which typify the mountainous landscape. The Desaguadero River and its tributaries form many natural valleys through the Cuyo region, and as such, irrigation has long since provided the dry and dusty vineyard with a fertile and crystal-clear water source, straight from the snowy peaks of the nearby Andes. Although Malbec is the grape varietal most commonly associated with Cuyo, wineries continue to experiment with other varietals there, and the wine industry of Cuyo in Argentina continues to go from strength to strength.
