The 2020 Languedoc Grés de Montpellier Clos de Savignac is a blend of 50% Mourvèdre, 30% Syrah and 20% Grenache, all aged in a mix of French and American oak (approximately one-third new). Scents of mocha, cedar, plum and cola appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple but clouded by oak and vanilla. It's a bit coarse and open-knit in texture, not very elegant, but concentrated and flavorful.
Winery
Intense deep purple color with garnet red tints. Complex and perfumed aromas of violet, cocoa, roasted coffee beans, and blackberries. A well structured and fullbodied wine, it has rich tannins and a strong fruity character.
