Delicate notes of white blossom and Asian pear introduce this rich, profoundly textural blend of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne sourced from three different plots in Hermitage. Fermented in oak for 9–12 months, it's a creamy, delicately spiced sip but refreshingly mineral, too. It's enticing in youth but will improve over the next two decades. (Editors' Choice) ... A blend of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne, the 2017 Hermitage Domaine Des Tourettes Blanc offers attractive notes of salted apple, citrus blossom, buttered lemon, and exotic spices. It's medium to full-bodied, has good acidity, a pure, elegant style, and beautiful purity and clarity. Drink it any time over the coming decade or so.

A blend of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne, the 2017 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes Blanc features scents of toasted almond, honey and pineapple. Full-bodied, rich and creamy, it's rounded out on the palate by melon-like fruit, then adds citrus zest, crushed stone and brine on the long finish. Drink it now or after about 10 years.

This is suave, with macadamia nut, salted butter and verbena notes weaving around a core of creamed Jonagold apple, star fruit and Bosc pear flavors. Everything entwines seamlessly through the finish. Best from 2021 through 2028. 344 cases made, 82 cases imported.

Rated 92 by Decanter
A blend of three parcels, this wine is fermented in new, one- and two-year-old barrels before spending up to 12 months on the lees with regular stirring. Slightly less rich in register than some of its peers, this is more citrus and rhubarb in aroma - not the deepest in terms of aromatics. The acidity is on the low side, but it nonetheless has a good sense of tension and drinkability.
Winery
Pale yellow, with green tints. The hue is bright with good density. On the nose the Hermitage blanc "Domaine des Tourettes" shows floral notes, underpinned by candied citrus fruit fragrances. These are complemented by fine oaky notes, such as vanilla and toasted brioche. Its powerful character shows on the palate. Concentrated and opulent, with a perfectly balanced structure, this Hermitage has beautiful freshness and a good mineral character, giving it great aromatic lenght.

Varietal: White Rhone Blend

The Rhone region of France has long been associated with some the finest blended white wines on earth, with centuries of expertise resulting in a wine industry which is based around the careful blending of a few extremely high quality grape varietals. Commonly, wines from this region use Viognier, Rousanne, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc varietals in the production of their superb white wines, with the winemakers skilfully blending different quantities of two or more of these grapes in order to achieve a perfect balance of flavor, acidity and body. The wines which are produced from these excellent varietals are usually highly aromatic, holding summery, bright flavors of peach, pear, honeysuckle and various spices, and are considered to be amongst the most elegant and enjoyable in the world.

Region: Rhone Valley

The southern French wine region of the Rhone Valley has been home to wine-makers for over two thousand years, with the first grapevines of the region being cultivated in around 600 BCE when the ancient Greeks arrived with their knowledge of viticulture and eagerness to produce more wine. Today, the region is famed around the world for the excellence of its produce, and has dozens of wineries making the most of the wide range of grape varietals which flourish there. In the northern sub-region, the continental climate and brisk winds coming off the Central Massif allow wineries to grow a smaller range of varietals – predominantly Syrah, Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier, whereas the southern, more Mediterranean sub-region allows far more range. Here, dozens of varietals are grown for the production of white, red and rosé wines, all packed full of flavor and able to express the unique terroir they are grown on.

Country: France

It is widely understood and accepted that the finest wines in the world come out of France. Whether you are drinking a vintage bottle from one of the famed Grand Cru wineries of Bordeaux - such as Chateau Margaux or Chateau Lafite-Rothschild - or a more simple and affordable bottle from one of the lesser known appellations in Burgundy, the likelihood is that the wine is packed full of intense and interesting flavors, and has a fine, balanced structure typical of almost all French produce. This reputation for excellence is taken extremely serious by the French, with dozens of regularly updated laws and regulations ensuring the quality and accurate labeling of wines. Such dedication and passion for fine wine, representative of the region in which it is produced, means customers can be assured that when they buy a bottle from France, they are buying something almost certain to please and delight.
