The 2005 Torcolato is 100% Vespaiola aged in French oak. This super-rich dessert wine flows from the glass with sumptuous layers of honey, apricot jam, candied orange peel, herbs and flowers. The wine possesses tons of depth and a finish that lasts forever. This expansive, compelling wine is a gem. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015.

Fresh lemon zest character accompanies the syrupy dried fruit and floral notes from start to finish. Full-bodied, with superlively acidity and a toffee and light caramel undertone. Rich and racy. Great with fresh fruit. Drink now. 2,600 cases made, 300 cases imported.

Italy remains very much a 'land of wines', and one could not imagine this country, its landscape and culture, without it.
