This is a serious wine with a lighter brighter side. Its wood aging adds spice to the ripe red fruits and brings out the concentration and intensity. It is, in its way, an unexpected side of Provence rosé, emphasizing richness and complexity. But it all comes together: a fine wine that, after a year of aging, is ready to drink.

Light brilliant orange-pink. Intense, expansive aromas of fresh red berries, orange, peach and vanilla, accompanied by smoky mineral and floral overtones. Sappy, concentrated and smoky on the palate, offering densely packed raspberry, tangerine and buttered toast flavors and a repeating vanilla note. Blind, I'd have guessed that this was a serious white Burgundy. Shows outstanding energy and mineral lift on the very long, supple finish, which echoes the floral and smoke notes.

A rosé of a different color, so to speak, featuring a noticeably creamy edge around a core of perfumy peach, apricot and mango notes. Stays lithe and elegant through the finish, with hints of bergamot and wet stone. Grenache and Rolle. Drink now. 1,500 cases made.
Winery
Aroma: Concentrated aromas and flavors of dried citrus, peaches and passion fruit give this rosé a powerful nose. Palate: A bright acidity with glazed pear and pineapple filling the mid palate. Garrus’ toasty notes are reminiscent of a vintage Champagne without the bubbles. Finish: A long, vertical texture with a creamy finish that features rich, spicy notes. Powerful and elegant.

Region: Provence

There are few places in the world quite as evocative as Provence, famed across the globe for its cuisine and wine culture which stretches back through history for over two and a half thousand years. Ever since the ancient Greeks came to this Mediterranean region of France, it has been prized by several cultures for its fantastic viticultural potential, and remains an important and popular wine producing region to this day. Provence is most famous today for its rosé wines, most commonly made with the Mourvedre varietal grapes which grow in abundance on the rolling hillscapes of the region. Helped by its beautiful Mediterranean climate, Provence proves itself time and time again to be a reliable producer of wonderful rosé wines, as well as characterful red and white varieties packed full of flavor and history.
