Very enticing, with hints of toasted macadamia nut and warm peach leading off, backed by juicy nectarine and tangerine flavors. Stays creamy in feel overall, with subtle quince and ginger notes scoring the finish. Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now through 2023. 333 cases made.

Attractive, waxy lemons and some gently flinty notes here. The palate has a smooth feel with lightly fleshy build into a savory, grain-flavored finish. Drink now.

The 2018 S De Suduiraut is a blend of 60% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon brought up mostly in used barrels, with 10% in new oak. This medium-gold hued effort has an exotic, rich bouquet of honeyed pineapple, flower oil, toasted nuts, and brioche. This carries to a medium to full-bodied white with a round, elegant texture, a solid underpinning of acidity, and a great finish. It's a richer, powerful white that holds onto a good sense of freshness and purity, and it's going to shine on the dinner table. I wouldn't push too much on the aging curve on this one, but certainly these concentrated, dry whites can surprise in the cellar.

The 2018 S de Suduiraut Blanc is composed of 60% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc and was barrel fermented and aged entirely in barriques (15% new), and it has 14.5% alcohol. It rolls effortlessly out of the glass with notes of honey-drizzled pears, white peaches and lemon meringue pie, plus wafts of pineapple and fresh ginger. This dry, medium to full-bodied wine is decadently rich, filling the palate with spicy stone fruit flavors and a lovely oiliness to the texture, supported by just enough freshness, finishing long. It is delicious right now but should cellar for a further five years or more.

The 2018 S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes emerges from the estate's oldest vines and is built on a core of Sémillon. Creamy, deep and wonderfully layered, the 2018 is so expressive. Dried pear, crushed flowers, mint and spice fill out the layers effortlessly. The Vieilles Vignes is one of the most distinctive and compelling dry whites in Bordeaux.

Rich and round. Lacks a little zip and freshness, with the emphasis on white pears and peach flesh. Kissed by oak.

Varietal: White Bordeaux

The blended white wines of the Bordeaux region of France are famed worldwide for their complexity of flavor and superbly balanced characteristics. They are most commonly made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle grapes, although French law dictates that Sauvignon Gris, Merlot Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Ondenc and Mauzac can all also be used in the production of these excellent wines. For centuries, the wineries of this region have been working and perfecting the skills necessarily to get the most flavor and positive characteristics of these grapes, and other wine producing countries in the world will no doubt continue to emulate these world leaders when it comes to selecting and blending said grape varietals.

Region: Bordeaux

The wineries of Bordeaux in France are widely considered to be amongst the finest on earth, with many of the chateaux found on the Left Bank and in the Médoc region routinely demanding enormous prices and being snapped up by collectors looking to add the best examples of the world's white and red wines to their cellars. Bordeaux's secret to success comes from the fact that the terroir of the region is exceptionally rich in minerals, helped by the clay and gravel soils which typify the area and the Gironde river which runs through it. Normally humid in climate, the nearby Atlantic coast supplies cooling breezes, making Bordeaux a winemaker's dream and resulting in extremely high quality grape varietals. For hundreds of years, the wineries of Bordeaux have been mastering the art of wine blending, and today produce a wide range of wine styles using many of the sixteen grape varietals permitted to grow in the region by French law.

Country: France

Year in, year out, France enjoys its prestigious reputation as the producer of the finest wines in the world. With a wine making history which spans several thousand years and owes its expertise to the Romans, it comes as little surprise that this most highly esteemed of the Old World wine countries continues to impress and enchant both novices and experts to this day. Despite the rise in quality of wines from neighboring European countries, not to mention the New World, the French wine industry continues to boom, with up to eight billion bottles being produced in recent years. However, France prides itself on always putting quality before quantity, and the wide range in fine produce is a testament to the dedication and knowledge of the wineries across the country. Indeed, from rich and complex reds to light and aromatic white wines, French wines are as varied and interesting as they are enjoyable to drink, making this country a firm favorite for wine lovers across the globe.
