The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Vieris lifts up with a spicy and pungent display of lemon oil, white smoke and wild herbs mixed with ginger and a spritz of tangerine. This keeps the energy remarkably high throughout. Soft textures across the palate are motivated by lime-infused acids, concentrated notes of grapefruit and young kiwi that drench the senses in sour, tropical citrus tension. The finish goes on and on, as the 2019's massive primary intensity slowly melts away, leaving a lip-smacking, fresh impression. While you can easily enjoy this now for its vivid fruit and mouthwatering personality. It needs time, and the best is truly yet to come.

The 2019 Friuli Isonzo Sauvignon Blanc Vieris shows lots of bright intensity and deep floral aromas of honeysuckle and star jasmine. The wine shows an exotic side with dried sage, saffron, cumin and sweet passion fruit. This Sauvignon Blanc excels at texture and mouthfeel, two qualities that are more difficult to drum out with this fragrant grape variety. Dusty mineral appears on the close.

COLOR: Bright straw yellow color. NOSE: On the nose it shows scents of kiwi, cedro, lemon and melonrind, followed by hints of almond, mineral and mint sensations. FLAVOR: On the palate it recalls all the aromas perceived on the nose, with a perfect balance between aromatics, fruit and acidity. Impeccable long lasting finish.

Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is widely considered to be one of the finest varietals of white wine grapes. The green skinned fruit is notable for ripening relatively early in the year, due to the fact that it prefers milder temperatures and cannot maintain its distinctive flavors in hot climates. As such, it has become a favorite grape varietal for wineries in many very different countries around the world, where it can benefit from brisk, coastal breezes and mild early summers. Sauvignon Blanc is revered for its freshness and zesty character, and generally produces wines which are dry and very crisp on the palate. However, there are a wide variety of wines produced from this wonderfully versatile grape – with many wineries preferring to age the fermented juices in oak, or allowing malolactic fermentation to add a creamier, buttery finish to the grassy and tropical, citrus flavors it often carries.

Region: Friuli-Venezia Giulia

Friuli-Venezia Giulia is an important Italian wine region, situated high in the northernmost parts of the country, and close to the Slovenian and Austrian borders. As such, there is a considerable Germanic influence on the wines of this region, with varietals such as Riesling growing alongside Italian classics such as Pinot Grigio. The finest wines of Friuli-Venezia Giulia are considered to be those which capture the alpine essence of the region, with its pine scented terroirs and crystal mountain waters which run down from the mountains. There are also several interesting lesser known grape varietals processed in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, which gives the region a unique wine culture which the local wine makers are immensely proud of, and which makes the region a fascinating one to explore.

Country: Italy

It isn't difficult to understand why Italy is famed not just for the quality of its wines, but also for the vast variety and range of characteristics found in the wines there. The terrain of the country varies wildly, from the lush rolling green hills and valley of Tuscany, to the sun drenched rocky coasts of Sicily, the mountainous and alpine regions of the north, and the marshy lowlands of the east. Italy really does have a little bit of everything. Combine this huge range of landscapes with an almost perfect climate for grape cultivation, and you have a country seemingly designed for viticultural excellence. The results speak for themselves, and it is clear to see that wine has become an inseparable part of Italian culture as a result of its abundance and brilliance. Each village, city and region has a local wine perfectly matched with the cuisine of the area, and not an evening passes without the vast majority of Italian families raising a glass of locally sourced wine with pride and pleasure.
