At the end of 2010, when Equipo Navazos' adventure turned five years old, we were lucky that our friends at Pérez Barquero allowed us to celebrate with the very limited edition of a racial Amontillado from Montilla. A very old “NO”, very intense and concentrated, of spectacular complexity, coming from one of the cannon barrels that have been resting for decades in its most distinguished cellar. There were very few bottles, intended to thank the support and recognize the valuable contribution of the friends who accompany us on this exciting path. For La Bota de Amontillado Viejísimo 73 “Bota Anniversary” we have returned to the same barrel barrel number 8 of the Los Amigos winery, along with its brother barrel number 3, to complete the contents of a butt without emptying any of them. This is a truly impressive Montillano Amontillado, on par with the greatest traditional Andalusian wines. Their average age is difficult to establish, but is undoubtedly greater than fifty years. In any case, this wine comes from some of the oldest butts in this winery, belonging to the set of the house's primitive soleras.

Country: Spain

Spanish wines are renowned world-wide for carrying all the passion and character of the Spanish culture within them. Any lover of Spanish wine would undoubtedly be able to confirm this notion, as the variety and range of flavors and aromas coming from the high end of Spanish produce is truly impressive, and continues to delight and fascinate both newcomers and the more experienced. Spain benefits massively from an ideal climate for wine production and vine cultivation, with its long, scorching hot summers and far reaching oceanic breezes working perfectly with the native and imported grape varietals, which thrive on the mineral rich soils that cover much of the country. With centuries of knowledge, and generations of expertise under their belts, Spanish wineries continue to focus on raising the quality of their nation's wines, helped along the way by relatively new laws and regulations regarding regional excellence and representativeness.
