Consistently provides an respectable, accessible overview of the Napa Valley AVA. Great balance between black and red fruits on the nose, propped up by subtle chocolate and mint aromas. Initially, the palate is rich and decadent, before retracting and showing off the restraint and elegance that an accurate rendering of this appellation provides. Solid and quintessential. Drinking Window 2024 - 2035.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a very pretty wine that shows just how alluring the vintage is. Open-knit and silky, Artemis is so inviting today. Crushed flowers, hints of spice, leather, cedar and tobacco add attractive layers of nuance to this mid-weight, gracious Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.

From a blend of beautiful sites across the valley, including Arcadia Vineyard in Coombsville and Rancho Chimiles in Wooden Valley, as well as small amounts of grapes from S.L.V. and Fay, this wine is inviting in dense aromas of red fruit, caramel and brioche. With dashes of Petit Verdot and Malbec, it finishes on accents of tobacco and cedar.

Always a solid value in Napa Cabernet, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis has a varietal nose of darker currants and subtle blue fruits as well as green tobacco, lead pencil shavings, chocolate, and cedarwood. This carries to a medium-bodied, nicely textured, elegant 2018 that offers the vintage's fresher, more elegant texture, present tannins, and plenty of length on the finish. It's not for those craving blockbuster wines, but it has elegance and charm. It should benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for 10-12.

Sensuous aromas of rich, dark chocolate, black cherries, and espresso immediately rise from the glass. As the wine opens, look for more subtle notes of violets, nutmeg, and truffles. The aromas carry over to the palate with additional flavors of cassis, orange peel, and clove. This medium to full-bodied wine has fine grained and smooth pebbly tannins.
