Vibrant and mineral, it's full of lemongrass, wax, seaweed and lemon candy with a peaty depth and hints of noble rot. The wine is concentrated, acidic at first then wrapped up in a woven structure, with a youthful, biting finish – a palate that defies time. Impressive price-to-quality-ratio. From 40-year-old vines on volcanic soil, this is a blend of slightly late-harvested Garganega, with Trebbiano intended to preserve the acidity. Both grapes are fermented in 30hl Allier oak vessels and aged for 12 months on the lees. ... More details

The 2020 Soave Classico Monte Grande is so pretty yet slightly understated, with a herbal twang that gives way to orange zests and pretty yellow flowers. This is round yet amazingly fresh and vibrant, with vivid apple tones and hints of chamomile. There's a lasting florality and staining mix of kiwi and young mango, while also salty and lightly structured. Breathtaking.

An expressive, light- to medium-bodied white, delivering juicy baked pineapple, pear glacé, pink grapefruit peel and tarragon flavors that show just a touch of brioche. Racy acidity gives this sleek wine focus, and the finish is long and minerally. Drink now through 2030.

Quite intense and focused nose, showing mineral, honey and beeswax on top of the fresh lemon and pineapple. Ripe on the palate, packed with honeyed fruit and showing generosity, as well as concentration. Fresh and bright, with lots of flavors in the medium to full body. Drink now. Screw cap.
Winery
The minerality, which is the distinctive characteristic of this cru, gives this wine great elegance. An outstanding olfactory complexity of mature exotic fruit and yellow citrus fruits. On the palate it has good freshness with a long finish of sweet almond and vanilla. Thanks to its structure this wine has a good aging potential.

Region: Veneto

Veneto's wine are much loved around the world for their strength of character, and the region itself is an interesting one from a viticultural perspective. Sheltered by the Alps, Veneto is protected by the harsh central European climate, making it possible to grow a wide range of high quality grape varietals, which wineries manage to do to great effect. This beautiful corner of north-eastern Italy has over ninety thousand hectares under vine, with over a third of this area having the prestigious DOC rating awarded to it by the Italian government. Veneto is Italy's second largest producer of wines, and their dedication to quality and innovation brings about a fantastic range of wine styles, enjoyed around the world for their flavors, aromas and distinctive character.

Country: Italy

There are few countries in the world with a viticultural history as long or as illustrious as that claimed by Italy. Grapes were first being grown and cultivated on Italian soil several thousand years ago by the Greeks and the Pheonicians, who named Italy 'Oenotria' – the land of wines – so impressed were they with the climate and the suitability of the soil for wine production. Of course, it was the rise of the Roman Empire which had the most lasting influence on wine production in Italy, and their influence can still be felt today, as much of the riches of the empire came about through their enthusiasm for producing wines and exporting it to neighbouring countries. Since those times, a vast amount of Italian land has remained primarily for vine cultivation, and thousands of wineries can be found throughout the entire length and breadth of this beautiful country, drenched in Mediterranean sunshine and benefiting from the excellent fertile soils found there. Italy remains very much a 'land of wines', and one could not imagine this country, its landscape and culture, without it.
