Vivid ruby. Spice- and smoke-accented red and dark berries and vanilla on the perfumed nose, along with a touch of incense. Intense bitter cherry and raspberry flavors are given lift and definition by an undertone of zesty minerality. Picks up a suave floral nuance on the persistent, smoke-tinged finish, which is framed by silky, slow-building tannins.

Rated 90 by Wine Spectator
Smoky, toasty and cocoa notes frame a core of ripe blackberry, currant, blood orange and licorice flavors in this fruit-centered red. Well-integrated tannins and orange peel acidity keep this focused. Drink now through 2029. 32,000 cases made, 18,000 cases imported.
Winery
Very intense cherry red color with tones of purple. Presents in the nose a great concentration of aromas of ripe red fruit with floral nuances. In the mouth, it is a well structured rich wine that evokes tastes of blackberry, plum and tones of leather and vanilla, with a soft and silky tannin.

Varietal: Grenache

The Grenache grape varietal has its origins in the dry and arid regions of central Spain, where it continues to thrive to this day under the blazing sun of this region. However, its popularity and versatility has meant that these purple skinned grapes have spread all over the Old and New World and have become of the most widely planted grape varietals on earth. The tightly bunched, round fruit of the Grenache vine can be rigorous and prodigious in the correct conditions, but is often struggling against various types of rot and mildew. Thanks to modern techniques for avoiding such problems, Grenache grape farmers now enjoy strong and high quality yields which they can use to produce the distinctive light bodied and spicy wines associated with this grape.

Country: Spain

Spanish wines are renowned world-wide for carrying all the passion and character of the Spanish culture within them. Any lover of Spanish wine would undoubtedly be able to confirm this notion, as the variety and range of flavors and aromas coming from the high end of Spanish produce is truly impressive, and continues to delight and fascinate both newcomers and the more experienced. Spain benefits massively from an ideal climate for wine production and vine cultivation, with its long, scorching hot summers and far reaching oceanic breezes working perfectly with the native and imported grape varietals, which thrive on the mineral rich soils that cover much of the country. With centuries of knowledge, and generations of expertise under their belts, Spanish wineries continue to focus on raising the quality of their nation's wines, helped along the way by relatively new laws and regulations regarding regional excellence and representativeness.
