91-93 Lots of Bing cherry, melted licorice, roasted garrigue, and sweet black raspberry notes emerge from the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a rocking base cuvée that has fine, polished tannins, no hard edges, and terrific overall balance. Based on 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre, and 3% Cinsault, it will have 10-15 years of ultimate longevity.

90-91 The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from La Bastide Saint Dominique is showing well, offering up aromas of peonies, cassis, dark berries and cassis blossoms. Medium- to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, it’s built around a textural core of ripe fruit, underpinned by lively acids and concluding with a suave, gently floral finish. This blend of 80% Grenache Noir, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre and 3% Cinsault was vinified in stainless steel and matured for nine months, predominantly in concrete tanks. It’s a seamless, immediate expression of the vintage.

Intense ruby wine with purple tints. Very intense nose of jammy red fruits, kirsch liqueur and black berries. After aeration, more complexity with notes of laurel, pepper, cardamom and resiny pine forest Opulent attack in a crunchy style, with full-bodied and elegant tannins. Pleasant freshness at the finish with spices notes.
