Rhone Valley

The Rhone Valley of southern France is a particularly fascinating wine region, with a history that stretches back to at least six hundred BCE, when the ancient Greeks first began cultivating vines there. The region itself is split into two distinct sub-regions, with the northern sub-region being famed for its production of exceptional Syrah, Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier wines, packed full of interesting character and expressing the terroir found there. The southern sub-region is home to an enormous variety of grapes, and produces red, white and rosé wines, and some of the world's most famous and adored blended wines. All Grenache, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Secrets De Pignan brings a touch more freshness. Wild strawberries, sappy flowers, Provençal garrigue, and ample spicy nuances all shine here, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless, layered, elegant mouthfeel, terrific tannins, and a great finish. It's up with the top wines in the vintage and is going to cruise for 10-12 years or so in cold cellars.

A fine, elegant and chiseled 100% grenache from Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The nose reveals notes of wild berries, wafers, grilled herbs, stones and a touch of burnt fennel. It’s medium- to full-bodied with finely grained tannins. Such purity and class to the silky texture, yet it has tension and verve. Infused and stunning. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Secrets de Pignan might very well be the best rendition of this cuvée since the towering 2016 vintage. Vivid spice box, thyme, forest strawberry, raspberry, licorice and white pepper exhale from the glass. Offering excellent concentration and intensity balanced by refreshing acidity, the 2022 is enveloped in ripe tannins and concludes with an expansive finish. Production was 4,000 bottles.

Winery Notes

Intense purple wine. Very complex nose of bursting with sunshine fruits, sweet spices, scrubland and humus. The matter, marked by delicate tannins although solids, intense and ripe offer fruity one. Finale reveals a surprising length endowed with peppered notes. Wine with a lot of roundness and dept with a typical « old vine » tanin structure.
