Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Mostly Chardonnay (80%), the 2019 Champagne 1er Cru Grand Cellier D’Or Brut is a bright yellow hue and is really starting to show off, revealing nuance, finesse, and opulence. Its notes of star fruit, pastry cream, croissants, fresh baked bread, and poached apples are followed by a full-bodied wine that retains its lovely focus and purity on the palate, with a refined mousse that rounds out the wine, and it offers a wonderful texture of citrus oils and salty earth. It’s a lovely wine all the way through and is going to age gracefully over the coming two decades.
The sparkling wines of Champagne have been revered by wine drinkers for hundreds of years, and even today they maintain their reputation for excellence of flavor and character, and are consistently associated with quality, decadence, and a cause for celebration. The beautiful rolling hillsides of the Champagne region of France have, for hundreds of years, been producing many of the world's most famous wines. The sparkling white wines to come out of Champagne's prestigious wineries have conquered the world, and are drank in celebration across the globe. The vast majority of the region is under vine, and grows predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varietals, which are usually blended together by master wine-makers in order to make their recognizable and widely loved produce. The north-easterly region of Champagne has a relatively cool climate, and quite a lot of rainfall, making it far from ideal for ripening grapes. However, the presence of heavily forested areas in the region helps maintain a balanced temperature, and the generations of expertise the wineries hold clearly produces excellent results in spite of the climatic problems.

Crafted from 50-year-old vines facing south, Vilmart's 2019 Brut Premier Cru Grand Cellier d'Or evokes aromas of pear, white peach, spring flowers, spices, lemon oil and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, pure and crystalline, it has a fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and a seamless texture enhanced by delicate notes of nuts and acacia, concluding with a long, saline finish. This is a great effort that could age gracefully over the next 20 years.

The 2019 Grand Cellier d'Or emerges from the Blanches Voies lieu-dit and is aged in French oak barrels. Creamy and ample, the 2019 is wonderfully sensual from start to finish. The warm vintage has given the Grand Cellier d'Or lovely textural suaveness, but without any excessive exuberance. Lemon confit, dried flowers, mint and marzipan build nicely in the glass. This is beautifully done. The blend is 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2023.

Grand Cellier D’Or 2019 is an 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir fermented new oak for 10 months on lees with no malolactic prior to second fermentation, where it was aged three years on fine lees. It isn’t shy to reveal warm aromas of fresh baked apple tart, poached pear, lemon cream cookies and honey then change course to a more vibrant, medium-bodied palate layered with apple and red currant notes suffused with supple acid. Disgorged in July 2023 and finished with seven grams per liter dosage.
